EIL Intercultural Learning is an Irish not for profit organisation supporting local projects across the world. Our volunteer programme involves living, working and making a difference while learning about a new culture and gaining a new perspective on global and development issues. On their return to Ireland we ask our volunteers to be the voice of the people they worked with and to highlight their experiences of poverty and inequality.
EIL was first established in 1932 and is the oldest educational exchange organisation in the world. In 1989 the EIL International Federation was designated as a Peace Messenger Organisation by The Secretary General of the United Nations in recognition of its work. The EIL Network also has consultative Status at the Council of Europe and at The Economic and Social Council of The United Nations.
