Networking Seminar
African and European Jury and Participants meet in
Brussels!

From the 22nd to the 24th of June 2009 the Ubuntu Jury and the project partners met in Brussels for a seminar to discuss questions linked to international voluntary service. The experience was extremely rich both from the human and professional point of view: everybody enjoyed the productive atmosphere and worked with enthusiasm and in close cooperation to each other.

The seminar was also the occasions for the Jury Members to meet and evaluate the applications for the Ubuntu Award according the following 6 cirteria: cooperation and joint decision making, sustainability, coherence, impact, youth empowerment, innovation.
The Ubuntu team was impressed by the quality of the applications received and the efforts organisations made to apply. The applications and the stories behind them show how international voluntary service is an important tool not only in terms of non-formal education but also as a mean for building solidarity and mutual understanding.
